GENERAL INFORMATION

The Sonora Police Department is a full-service, community-policing organization with 25 sworn and non-sworn staff, which provides police services for the City. There are also 5 reserve police officers and a 12 member senior volunteer program. We also have a very active Police Explorer Post consisting of 14 explorers. The Department has five divisions, which include: Patrol, Investigations, Animal Control, Parking, and Administration.

Operating out of a police facility located at 100 S. Green Street, the department features a 24-hour Dispatch Center. Last year our officers responded to 12,654 calls for service.
