April 9-15, 2017 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

In an emergency, most Americans depend on 9–1–1. Every day Public Safety Dispatchers answer desperate calls for help, responding with services that save the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Public Safety Dispatchers are our first line of communication with the community, and they are a lifeline to those in crises as well as a lifeline for police officers in the field.

Today the Sonora Police Department honored our dispatch staff for their hard work and dedication to the community and the Sonora Police Department. They received gifts of appreciation and enjoyed an ice-cream social. If you know a Public Safety Dispatcher form any agency or jurisdiction, please take the time this week to thank them for their service.
