Subject: Armed Robbery
15 February 2015, at approx. 1:30 am, the Sonora Police Department responded to the Koto House, located at 70 Stockton Road, for a reported armed robbery.
When Officers arrived they made contact with the owner. The owner related the business had closed for the night. While inside the office, he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect was wearing a ski mask and holding a knife, which he had armed himself with from inside the restaurant.
The suspect demanded cash from the owner. The owner advised the suspect he needed to go to the cash register. The suspect told the owner the register was already empty. When the owner related there was no more cash inside the business, the suspect put the knife down and fled out a side door.
The suspect is described as 5-6 to 5-8, average build. The ski mask the suspect was wearing covered his entire face. It’s believed there was a second subject inside the business as well, but they were not observed by the owner. Entry into the closed business was made through an unlocked side door.
