Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

On March 18, 2017, at about 11:10 P.M., Sonora Police Department received a call from 311 Fairview Lane, reporting that a male subject had just thrown a metal object at a female inside that residence. Sonora Police Officers were dispatched to the residence and upon arrival, learned that Casey Jones, 32 of Sonora, was the responsible party who had left the residence just prior to officers arriving on scene. Jones was soon located and detained by Sonora Police Officers. Upon further investigation, officers learned that Jones had become upset and yelled at several occupants of the residence. Jones grabbed a metal object and intentionally threw it at a female, nearly missing her head while she was lying on a couch. Jones was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail. Jones remains in custody with $40,000 bail.
