Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

On June 11, 2017, at about 1:32 A.M., Sonora Police Department received a call from Sonora Regional Medical Center of an adult male being treated for injuries resulting from an earlier assault. Officers responded and made contact with the victim. Officers learned from the victim that earlier that morning, he became involved in an argument with another male, identified as Canyon David Fox, 28 years old of Jamestown, behind Zane’s Iron Horse Bar (97 S. Washington Street). The argument escalated into a physical altercation, which resulted in Fox striking the victim over the head with a hard object. The victim sustained minor head and facial injuries as a result of the assault. Officers later located Fox at his residence where he was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail. Fox remains in custody with $40,000 bail.
