Subject: Assault with a deadly weapon arrest
23 June 2010, at approx. 11:44 pm, officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to a homeless camp, located behind the Lowes project, regarding a domestic disturbance.
Upon officers’ arrival to the area, they contacted the victim and the suspect. The suspect was identified as Misty Rudy, 34, transient. The victim was identified as a 45 year old male transient. Both related they have been co-habitants for several years.
The victim told officers that he and Rudy had gotten into a verbal confrontation about a camp guest. Then during the verbal dispute, Rudy went into their tent and removed a belt made out of metal chains similar to bicycle chains, Rudy then starting hitting the victim about the head and legs with the chain belt. The victim sustained lacerations and a broken tooth as a result of the attack. The victim declined any medical treatment for his injuries.
Rudy was taken into custody without incident. Rudy was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
