Subject: Burglary Arrest

18 January 2015, the Sonora Police Department took a burglary report from Bella’s Lasting Impressions, located on the 100 block of S. Stewart Street. Stolen during the burglary was over $1,500 worth of beauty supplies and makeup. During the burglary, the suspect cut themselves, while crawling through a window they had broken to gain entry into the business. They also left behind a cell phone.

A search warrant was obtained to access the contents of the cell phone. While searching the cell phone, it was determined the phone belonged to Brady Lassa, 41 of Sonora. Lassa already had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The charges on the warrants ranged from felony burglary to violation of probation.

19 January 2015, at approx. 9:50 pm, an Officer stopped a subject for riding his bicycle without a headlight in the area of Lowes. During the stop, the subject gave a false name. The subject was finally identified as Brady Lassa.

Lassa was placed under arrest without incident. He was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked on the outstanding warrants. He was also booked for felony burglary, misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor false impersonation to an officer, misdemeanor delaying an officer, and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing. The blood collected at the scene has been sent to the Department of Justice for analysis and DNA profiling.

17 January 2015, at approx. 2:40 am, Bob’s Greenley Pharmacy was also burglarized. The suspects in this case disabled the alarm and surveillance systems. Over $20,000 worth of prescription medications were stolen. At this time, it is unknown if there is a connection between these two cases. The investigation into this matter is also ongoing.
