Subject: Child Endangerment Arrest
9 Aug. 2009, at approx. 3:50 pm, Officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to Sonora Regional Medical Center for a reported child abuse in progress.
When Officers arrived, they contacted several witnesses. The witnesses related that a female subject, who was later identified as Kimberlee Arnold, 29 of Jamestown, had pushed her five year old son to the ground then started kicking at the child, who had curled up into a fetal position while lying on the ground.
The witnesses ran out of the medical center and grabbed the five year old and brought him into the medical center until Officers arrived. The five year old boy was visibly upset, but appeared to be uninjured physically from the incident. The child was later released to a family member.
Officers contacted Arnold in the parking lot of the medical center, where she was taken into custody without incident. Arnold was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for felony child endangerment and misdemeanor public intoxication.
