Subject: Child Endangerment Arrest
21 March 2010, at approx. 7:49 pm, a subject called the Sonora Police Department and reported that they were following a possible drunk driver on Stockton Rd. Before officers could catch up with the driver, the driver crashed on South Shepherd St.
Officer contacted the driver, who was identified as Danelle Marin, 41 of Sonora. Marin also had her 6 year old son in the vehicle with her. Fortunately, neither Marin nor her son, were injured as a result of the accident. Officers determined that Marin had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance and placed her under arrest.
This is not the first time the Sonora Police Department has dealt with Marin and her being under the influence of a controlled substance while carrying for her son. On 2 Feb. 10, her 6 year old son called 911 and reported that his mother was passed out on the floor of their residence. On that occasion, officers responded and found Marin was under the influence of drugs and took her into custody for being under the influence and child endangerment.
This time Marin was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
• Felony child endangerment
• Being under the influence of a controlled substance
• Driving under the influence of a controlled substance
