Subject: Child Endangerment Arrest
28 July 2009, at approx. 3:44, Officer from the Sonora Police Department responded to a two story apartment complex located at 72 & 74 Green St. in regards to a fight, which resulted in the victim receiving some moderate injuries.
While officers were contacting all the tenants in the complex, they contacted Amanda Reed, 25, who was a witness to the fight. Reed was extremely intoxicated and could not stand without assistance. Reed was alone in her apartment, with her two year old daughter, who was awake and running freely around the apartment unsupervised.
Officers arrested Reed for Felony Child Endangerment. Reed’s daughter was turned over to the custody of Child Welfare Services (CWS). A preliminary alcohol screening test on Reed, two hours after her arrest, showed her blood alcohol level to be a .319. That is almost four times the legal limit to be operating a motor vehicle.
Reed was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked.
