Subject: Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

24 January 2011, at approx. 8:32 pm, employees from Safeway called and reported the theft of $32.06 worth of merchandise from their store by a female, who got into a vehicle driven by a male subject. The employees were able to supply the police department with the suspect’s description, along with the description of the vehicle they were in.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle. They made contact with the occupants, who were identified as Deanna Webb, 23 of Sonora and James Hanson, 19 of Sonora. The subjects were identified as being the ones involved in the theft and all the stolen merchandise was recovered. Hanson was also in possession of a concealed dagger. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

Webb was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
• Felony possession of stolen property
• Felony conspiracy to commit a crime
• Misdemeanor theft

Hanson was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
• Felony possession of a dangerous weapon
• Felony possession of stolen property
• Felony conspiracy to commit a crime
• Misdemeanor driving on a suspended driver’s license
