Domestic Battery and Felon with a Firearm Arrest

On Thursday, July 19th, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Sonora Police Officers were on foot in the area of Stockton Road and Mill Villa Court when they overheard a yelling coming from a travel trailer to the north of the roadway.  Officers approached and witnessed 50-year-old Larry Hunter dragging his girlfriend through the trailer by her feet.  As one of the Officers announced his presence, Hunter dropped on top of the female and made a movement the officer believed was going to result in injury.

Hunter was immediately detained while Officers conducted the investigation.  A 22 caliber rifle, determined to belong to Hunter, was located at the entrance of the trailer.  Hunter is prohibited from owning firearms due to prior felony convictions for Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Hunter was booked at the County Jail for Domestic Battery and Felony Possession of a Firearm.  The female victim reported no injuries to Police.
