Domestic Battery/False Imprisonment Arrest

On September 27, 2017, around 1:20 p.m., the Sonora Police Department received a call of a female subject being treated at Adventist Health Sonora for injuries resulting from an assault. Officers arrived and made contact with the female victim. Officers learned that Joshua Roy Perry, 32 of Sonora, became involved in an argument with his girlfriend, the victim, around 9:00 a.m. in the 600 block of Shaws Flat Road. During the argument, the victim attempted to leave the residence several times, but her movement was blocked by Perry. At one point, Perry shoved the victim to the floor and sat on her in order to prevent her from leaving the house. The victim physically fought back and was eventually able to get up. The victim later attempted to exit the residence through a window; however, Perry carried her back into the residence. As Perry was attempting to carry the victim back into the residence, she grabbed onto an object in an attempt to stop Perry’s movement. Perry then bit the victim, causing visible injuries. Officers arrested Perry for domestic battery causing injury and false imprisonment. Perry was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for felony charges.
