Subject: Drug & Possession of Stolen Property Arrest
17 June 2010, at approx. 12:46 am, an officer from the Sonora Police Department attempted to stop a bicyclist on the 100 block of Stockton Rd., for some mechanical violations. The bicyclist failed to yield to the officer and started throwing items as they attempted to flee the officer.
The officer was finally able to stop the bicyclist on Theall St., just east of South Washington St. The officer identified the bicyclist as Edmond Allatt, 30, of Sonora. Officers located an item that Allatt had tossed while fleeing from the officer and determined it was methamphetamine.
During a search of Allatt’s person, four gold rings were located. These rings were later determined to have been stolen during a burglary of a residence in the County on Monday. Allatt also had a $500 check from an unknown source, which is also believed to be stolen property.
Allatt was taken into custody without any further incident. He was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for;
• Felony possession of methamphetamine
• Felony possession of stolen property
The investigation into this matter is continuing and more charges are expected.
