29 March 2012, at approx. 7:38 pm, Officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to the parking lot of Wal-Mart regarding a report of two subjects smoking marijuana inside a parked vehicle.
Officers arrived and observed evidence of drug use inside the vehicle. One of the subjects inside the vehicle was identified as Adam Hoskins, 25 of Sonora. Hoskins is currently out on his own recognizance from an arrest in January 2012 for being in possession of controlled substances; possession of stolen property; giving false information to a police officer; bringing a controlled substance into the jail; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A search of the vehicle produced a large amount of vicodin and other controlled narcotics that Hoskins didn’t have a prescription for. Also located were heroin, hypodermic needles, and spoons used in the injection of narcotics.
Hoskins was taken into custody and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail. Hoskins was booked for felony possession of controlled narcotics; committing a felony while out of jail on his own recognizance; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
