Subject: Drug Arrest
9 July 2010, at approx. 5:52 pm, officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to the parking lot of Rite Aid regarding a physical fight in progress. When officers arrived, they contact the Loss Prevention Officer of Rite Aid, who had Jason Turzai, 39, of Jamestown detained.
The Loss Prevention Officer related that he had observed Turzai remove several items from the store without paying for them. Then when the Loss Prevention Officer contacted Turzai in the parking lot, a physical fight insured. Neither party required medical attention.
During a search of Turzai, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine was located. Turzai was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked without any further incident. Turzai was booked for;
Felony possession of a controlled substance
Felony theft with a prior conviction
The police department is also requesting the District Attorney’s Office charge Turzai with felony robbery.
