Subject: False Imprisonment Arrest
24 January 2011, at approx. 7:22 pm, Officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to 768 Mono Way for a report of a domestic dispute occurring inside a parked vehicle.
Upon officer’s arrival, a witness told the officers that a female had attempted to exit the vehicle in question, but a male grabbed her and pulled her back inside the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle, the male subject was holding the female down on the passenger seat of the vehicle.
The officers contacted the male subject who was identified as Edward Jones, 20 of Sonora. During the officers investigation it was learned that Jones was on probation for domestic violence and had an active restraining order against him. Jones was taken into custody without incident and the female didn’t sustain any major physical injuries from the attack.
Jones was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
• Felony false imprisonment
• Misdemeanor battery
• Misdemeanor violation of a domestic restraining order
• Misdemeanor violation of probation
