16 June 2016, at approx. 10:06 am, a citizen reported a reckless driver in a 1998 Chevy Silverado truck, with Nevada license plates. A short time later, an Officer located the vehicle on S. Washington Street.

The driver, Robert Santos Jr., 47 of Sacramento, was contacted. Santos originally identified himself with a false drivers’ license during the beginning of the investigation. Santos failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

During an inventory of Santos’ vehicle, five additional false drivers’ licenses were located, all with five different names on them, but all contained Santos’ photograph. Santos’ actually identification card was located as well.

Once the Officer determined Santos’ real name, a records check revealed Santos had a felony “no bail” warrant for DUI out of Sacramento, along with a misdemeanor warrant for driving on a suspended drivers’ license. Santos is a convicted felon who has served prison time for multiple DUI’s. His drivers’ license is suspended as the result of DUI convictions.

Santos was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for felony possession of forged identification, misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license as the result of a DUI conviction, as well as several other misdemeanor violations. He was also booked on the felony “no bail” warrant out of Sacramento.
