Felony Vandalism and Parole Violation Arrest

On July 24th, 2019, the Sonora Police Department arrested 22-year-old Shahaun L. Davis of Sonora for felony vandalism and violation of parole.

Between July 2nd and July, 9th, our department received multiple reports of tagging (graffiti) around the city of Sonora.  Over the course of the investigation, our officers were able to identify Mr. Davis as the suspect responsible for those taggings, which include multiple acts of graffiti at Cassina High School alone.  The costs to clean and cover the damage is modestly estimated to be well over a thousand dollars.

Just after 9:30 a.m. this morning, our officers, along with a State Parole Agent, conducted a parole search on a residence associated with Mr. Davis on the 100 block of West Bradford Street.  Mr. Davis was located and interviewed regarding the crimes.  A search of the residence produced further evidence of the vandalism, and Mr. Davis was ultimately arrested.

Also in the home was 20-year-old Joseph G. Marsellis of Sonora who was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.   Both men were booked at the Tuolumne County Jail.
