The Governor’s Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor Review Board has recommended Officer Ryan Webb of the Sonora Police Department be awarded the Medal of Valor for his actions during the shooting incident on 22 November 2014, in which Officer Webb was shot. This is the highest award for valor presented to a public safety officer by the State.

To recognize Officer Webb for his act of valor, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will hold a ceremony, Monday, 14 September 2015, at the State Capitol in the Governor’s Council Room to present Officer Ryan Webb with the award.

The California Peace Officers’ Association statewide Awards Committee has also announced that Officer Ryan Webb has been selected to receive their Award of Valor, which will be presented on Monday, 12 Oct. 2015, at the Long Beach Convention Center.
