Subject: Hit & Run Accident
29 January 2015, at approx. 5:53 am, the Sonora Police Department responded to the intersection of Washington and Bradford Streets for a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian hit and run accident.
A witness observed a vehicle heading north on Washington Street at a high rate of speed, turn right onto Bradford Street striking Naomi Parise, 36 of Sonora, who was crossing Bradford Street. The vehicle then continued east on Bradford Street without stopping. The force of the impact knocked Parise to the pavement. Parise sustained moderate head trauma and a laceration to the back of her head. She was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was described as an older Ford, possibly a Taurus or Focus, either tan or gray in color. The witness was unable to provide any further description of the suspect vehicle.
