When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they located 46 year old Sean Boles of Sonora, lying in the roadway. Boles was unconscious and was bleeding from his head. He was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance; then was later flown to Modesto Memorial Hospital for treatment. Boles suffered major head trauma as a result of the accident.

Washington Street. Then for some unknown reason, Boles rode the bicycle off the raised sidewalk, causing him to land on his head in the traffic lane.
