Motorcycle v. Box-Truck Collision

A 34-year-old Sonora woman was hospitalized after the motorcycle she was riding on collided with a box truck yesterday morning.

On Sunday, September 15th, shortly after 9:00 am, a 2014 Harley Davidson was traveling southbound on Washington Street when it struck the rear area of a 2008 GMC box truck preparing to turn right from the southbound lane near Hospital Road.  Both the 30-year-old driver of the motorcycle and his passenger were ejected upon impact.  The driver of the motorcycle sustained moderate injuries, but the female passenger was flown to a valley hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were wearing helmets.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
