Narcotics Arrest

On March 24, 2017, around 7:30 P.M., Sonora Police Officers were dispatched to Safeway (1291 Sanguinetti Road) for a report of two suspicious males sitting in a blue Honda Civic. Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle matching that description. The vehicle was occupied by one male adult identified as Russell Thomas Garcia, 27 of Twain Harte. As officers engaged in a conversation with Garcia, one of the officers noticed in plain view, a small baggie containing black tar heroin inside on the driver’s side door rest.

Officers conducted a search of the interior of the vehicle and located several grams of heroin, methamphetamine and various types of loose prescription pills. Officers also located a scale and several dozen small baggies.

During a search of Garcia’s person, officers discovered a note book with pay out and owe information written down on several of the pages as well as a large amount of cash. Garcia was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
