New Officer

The Sonora Police Department has filled one more of our open positions. Officer Eric
Webern recently completed his field training program, and is now working as a solo Officer performing patrol functions within the City.

Officer Weber grew up in Tuolumne County and is a graduate of Sonora High School. He worked as a carpenter before becoming a train conductor and engineer for BNSF (Burlington Northern and Santa Fe) Railways.

After leaving the railroad, Officer Weber sponsored himself through the police academy located at San Joaquin Delta College Public Safety Training Center, where he graduated at the top 10% of his academy class on 11 Sept. 2015. He is extremely thrilled about his new career in law enforcement. Officer Weber has already made positive impacts in the community which he was raised and still lives in.

The Sonora Police Department welcomes Officer Weber to the City of Sonora, as well as to the Department.
