The Sonora Police Department has filled one of our open positions. Officer Scott Mallon recently completed his field training program, and is now working as a solo Officer performing patrol functions within the City.

Officer Mallon was raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. He left Hawaii to serve in the U.S. Navy. After completing a four year tour of duty in the Navy, Officer Mallon moved to Monterey, where he began working as an EMT. After nearly six years as an EMT, Officer Mallon put himself through the police academy. After graduating from the police academy, he became an Officer with the Seaside Police Department.

After six years at the Seaside Police Department, Officer Mallon joined the San Francisco Police Department, where he worked for the past three years, reaching the rank of Field Training Officer. Officer Mallon wanted to retire in the foothills, and is happy to have been able to move here prior to retiring.

The Sonora Police Department welcomes Officer Mallon to the City of Sonora, as well as to the Department.
