The City of Sonora is recruiting for one (1) Police Officer who is a military veteran. For the purposes of this recruitment, a military veteran is defined as an individual who has served on active duty at any time in the armed forces for a period of more than 180 consecutive days; for National Guard units, 180 consecutive days deployment away from home base; any part of which occurred on or after September 11, 2001, and who has been discharged or released from active duty in the armed forces under honorable conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MQ)

1. Possession of an active California P.O.S.T. “Basic Certificate” or a California P.O.S.T. “Certificate of Academy Completion”. Recruits must undergo formal training in a P.O.S.T. certified Police Academy.
2. Possession of a DD Form 214 verifying a discharge or release from active duty in the armed forces under honorable conditions and service on active duty at any time in the armed forces for a period of more than 180 consecutive days; or for National Guard units 180 consecutive days deployment away from home base; any part of which occurred on or after
September 11, 2001.
3. Possession of a valid Class C California Drivers License by date of appointment and have a good driving record.
