Subject: Sexual Assault Arrest
2 Aug. 2011, at approx. 9:55 am, a female came into the lobby of the Sonora Police Department and reported she had been held against her will and sexual assaulted by someone she knows.
The victim told officers that on 1 Aug. 2011, at approx. 1:00 pm, she was walking on the 200 block of South Washington St. when Charles Taylor, 25 of Jamestown called her over to his vehicle. Taylor then forced the victim into his vehicle and drove her to Jamestown.
While in Jamestown, Taylor attempted to talk the victim out of testing against him in an upcoming court matter. Then before releasing the victim, the victim claimed Taylor sexually assaulted her.
The victim was able to tell officers where Taylor’s camp trailer was parked in Jamestown. Officers contacted Taylor in Jamestown and took him into custody without incident. Taylor was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked him for;
Felony sexual assault by force
Misdemeanor dissuading a witness
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
