Burglary arrest

Richardson 10 Jan. 07 at approx. 7:35, officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to Ross Clothing Store for a possible shoplifter inside the store. When officers arrived, they were contacted by employees of the business. The employees related they had watched a female subject exit the store with a large bag full of merchandise. As the female exited the store the security alarm went off, but the female subject kept walking out the store. They watched the female subject enter a parked vehicle in the parking lot. The female sat in the vehicle for a few minutes. She then exited the vehicle and walked back into the store with the same bag, but the bag was now empty. The female subject was still inside the store and employees pointed her out to the officers. The officers contacted the subject who was identified as Sarah Richardson, 44 of Sonora. Officers recognized Richardson from a similar incident in Feb. 07, where she was arrested for burglary at Mervyen’s. During a warrants check, a felony no bail warrant was located for Richardson’s arrest for burglary out of Tuolumne County. Richardson was taken into custody without incident. $82 worth of stolen clothing from Ross was recovered from Richardson’s vehicle. Richardson was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for;
