31 Jan. 09, a subject contacted the Sonora Police Department and reported that his dependant adult son’s debit card was stolen from him while he was at Sonora Express Mart. Then shortly after the theft the card was used at Gold Country Gas and Pak N Save in Sonora. Both the victim’s father and mother went to Sonora Express Mart and attempted to view the stores surveillance video, but the clerk refused to allow them to view the video. The officer responded to Sonora Express Mart and made contact with the same clerk the victim’s parents had been speaking with, who was identified as Jagjit Singh, 29 of Sonora. Singh told the officer that only the manager had access to the surveillance video and that the officer would have to contact the manager. The officer felt Singh was acting very suspicious while he was talking with him but he had no evidence to prove Singh was involved in the theft. The officer was able to obtain surveillance video from Gold County Gas and Pak N Save, where the stolen access card had been used. Upon reviewing the surveillance video’s the officer immediately noticed Singh using the victims stolen access card to purchase items at both locations. 3 Feb. 09, Officers contacted Singh at his residence in Sonora, where they located most of the items he had purchased with the stolen access card. Sign was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for;
