Subject: Injury Accident
5 Feb. 09, at approx. 6:31 pm, Officers from the Sonora Police Department and the Sonora Fire Department responded to a reported head on collision on the 400 block of S. Washington St. When officers arrived they found the roadway to be completely blocked. Officers determined that Tara Vonherrmann, 16 of Sonora, was S/B on S. Washington St. in a 07 Mazda sedan, when for some unknown reason, she allowed her car to drift into the N/B lane and hit a 04 Chevy SUV head on, which was being operated by Jeffrey Scott, 29 of Sonora. Both vehicles sustained major damage. Vonherrmann was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance for complaint of pain. Scott complained of back and neck pain, but stated he would seek his own medical treatment. Scott also had two young children in his vehicle, which were properly restrained and received no injuries. S. Washington St. was closed for over an hour while emergency personnel worked on cleaning up the scene and removing the vehicles. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
