Stolen Vehicle Arrest


Haire 24 Feb. 09, at approx. 1:16 pm, a person called the Sonora Police Department and reported the theft of their 2002 Chevy Malibu. The caller stated he had left his vehicle running in front of his residence on West Bradford St., while he helped someone into the residence. When he returned to his vehicle a few minutes later his vehicle was gone. The Sonora Police Department issued a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) to other area law enforcement agencies. At approx. 2:06 pm, a Deputy from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle traveling northbound on S. Washington St. The Deputy was able to turn around and make an enforcement stop on the vehicle and take the driver into custody. The driver was identified as Robert Donnell Haire IV, 52 of Sonora. Haire has an extensive criminal history. Haire was turned over to the Sonora Police Department, who transported Haire to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked him for;

  • Felony vehicle theft
  • Misdemeanor driving on a suspended license
