5 March 2009, at approx. 6:25 pm, the Sonora Police Department responded to the trauma room of Sonora Regional Medical Center regarding an assault victim they were treating.
An officer contacted the 16 year old victim at the medical center. The victim related that at approx. 3:45 pm, he was walking on Snell St, near Bonanza Rd., when he observed an 80’s-90’s white, single cab, two wheel drive Chevy P/U, parked ahead of him.
As he neared the truck, the driver exited the driver’s side and approached him. When the driver reached the victim, the driver started punching the victim in the face. The driver was then joined by three other subjects, one of which struck the victim in the head with a small tree limb, using it as a club.
After beating the victim for several seconds, the suspects ran back to the white truck and speed off. The victim claims he doesn’t know any of the suspects and he has no idea why they attacked him. The victim was only able to provide a vague description of the driver of the truck.
The driver is described as being a white male, possibly 16-17 years of age, wearing a white T-shirt, and black Dickie pants.
