6 March 09, at approx. 1:43 am, officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to a reported vehicle into a building accident on the 200 block of Mono Way. When officers arrived they located a 1985 Ford Ranger P/U on its side and into the front porch area of the Ink Machine tattoo parlor, located at 200 Mono Way. The P/U had also struck another vehicle which was parked in front of the business, before rolling over and into the front of the business.
Officers contacted the driver, who was identified as Daniel Ray Clements, 21 of Sonora. Clements claimed he was traveling down Mono Way, when he lost control of his vehicle because of “Hydroplaning.” However, it was clear at the time of the accident and the roadway had been dry for almost a day.
Clements was arrested for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked. The Ink Machine received moderate damage to the porch and railing area.
