Subject: Explorer Challenge
Recently, the Sonora Police Department’s Explorer Post competed in the Redwood Empire Explorer Challenge. This year, 31 law enforcement agencies were represented at the event, which included approximately 300 explorers.
The Sonora Police Department’s Explorers were very successful in the event winning a total of five trophies. The top winner for the department was Lucas VanBolt, who came away with three of the trophies. However, all the Explorers stepped up and did their best during the competition. The Explorers endured several hours of hard work and training preparing them for the competition.
Below are the winners and their categories. Please note some of these were team competitions.

The Sonora Police Department will be hosting the 2010 Explorer Challenge here in Sonora area. The event coordinator will be Sgt. Glenn Roberts of the Sonora Police Department. Anyone who is interested in donating time, materials or money to the event are asked to contact Sgt. Roberts at 532-8141, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Explorer program is a great opportunity for younger men and women to explore a possible career in law enforcement and enjoy some great activities while doing so.
