Subject: False Imprisonment arrest
23 June 2009, Tuolumne County Victim Witness contacted the Sonora Police Department regarding a victim of a violent crime they were with.
It was learned from the victim, that during the last two days she was repeatedly beaten by John Laurence Dellinger 36 of Sonora. During the two days, Dellinger held the victim against her will, threatened to kill her with weapon he had, and disabled the phones so she couldn’t call for help. The victim was finally able to break out of the house where she was being held captive and flee. The victim had numerous injuries, which she was treated for.
A Be On the Look Out (BOLO) was issued for Dellinger. 24 June 09, at approx. 8:30 an Officer from the Sonora Police Department observed Dellinger riding a bicycle on School St.. Dellinger was taken into custody without incident. Dellinger was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was book for;
• Felony false imprisonment, with the use of violence
• Felony inflicting corporal injury
• Felony assault with a deadly weapon
• Felony threat to commit a violent crime/act
• Felony obstruction of a phone line
The investigation into this matter is continuing. Bail has been set at $100,000.
