26 Dec. 07 at approx. 1:45 pm, an officer from the Sonora Police Department stopped a pick-up truck for having registration expired over eleven months. The officer contacted the driver who was identified as Jacob Klein, 34 of Sonora. Because the registration on the truck was expired over 6 months the vehicle was towed. While the officers were conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, they located a zip lock sandwich bag that contacted 13.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Klein had been cited and released to leave, but officers re-contacted Klein walking in the area and took him into custody without incident. During a search of Klein, a large amount of cash was located, with most of it being in denominations of 20’s and 10’s. Klein was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for;

  • “Transportation of a controlled substance”
  • “Possession of a controlled substance”
