Subject: Stolen Vehicle & Drug Arrest
20 April 2016, at approx. 8:12 am, a Sergeant stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign at the intersection of Lyons and Shepherd Streets. A check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen from the Sonora area on 11 April 2016.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident. The driver was identified as Robert Reed, 36, of Copperopolis; the passenger was identified as Daniel Oliver, 38, who claimed to be homeless. A search of the vehicle revealed over 40 grams of methamphetamine, 20 Clonazepam, more than 14 grams of marijuana, plus a large amount of cash.
Reed and Oliver were transported to the Tuolumne County Jail. Reed was booked for felony transportation of drugs, felony possession of drugs for sale, as well as felony possession of stolen property. Oliver was booked for felony transportation of drugs and felony possession of drugs for sale.
