Date and Time of Incident: 24 March 2010 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Once again, the Sonora Police Department will be participating in the Tip-A-Cop program, which will be held at Applebee’s in Sonora (851 Sanguinetti Rd.) on 24 March, between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
The goal of the Tip-A-Cop program is to collect as many donations as possible for Tuolumne County Special Olympics Program through “tips.” An Officer will be teamed with a Special Olympics Athlete, who will then be teamed with one of the normal employees of Applebee’s. The trio will wait on tables and serve customers throughout the evening. The tips for the employees of Applebee’s are not affected during the event.
The Sonora Police Department would like to invite you to come out and have a good time and a good meal, while helping our local Special Olympic Athletes earn donations for their program. This is always a fun event and we encourage the public to attend. If you don’t want to eat and just want to stop by and make a donation, your donations will gladly be accepted by one of the Athletes or Officers.
