Subject: Tree into Occupied Vehicle.
13 Oct. 2009, at approx. 3:05 pm, the Sonora Police Department responded to a report of a tree down on top of an occupied vehicle on Stockton Rd., between Washington and Green St..
When officers arrived, they located a large portion of a tree on top of the hood of a 1997 Chevy Truck, which was being driven by Mark Quinn, at the time of the incident. Quinn was uninjured, but his vehicle sustained major damage to the hood and front grill area.
Cal Trans and a Baseline crew arrived to remove the tree from the roadway. Just after they finished the removal of the first tree, a second tree fell into the roadway. The remaining standing portion of the second tree was determined to be a hazard by Cal Trans and a tree faller responded to fall the remaining standing portion of the tree. During this time Stockton Rd. was completely closed between Washington St. and Green St..
After the second tree was fallen and the debris removed from the roadway, Stockton St. was reopened to through traffic at 5:55 pm.
