19 January 2016, at approx. 11:52 A.M., Officers responded to the Inn’s of California, Gold Rush Building, for a report of a vehicle into the side of the inn. When officers arrived, they located an Isuzu SUV into a support beam of the hotel.

The driver, Steven Cook, 39 of Jamestown, related he was southbound on S. Washington Street, when he started choking on a cookie. He then started pulling off the roadway, when he accidentally accelerated his vehicle into the Inn. Cook, nor anyone else, was injured as a result of the accident. Drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
