Vehicle Theft

Subject: Vehicle Theft Arrest

11 June 2016, at approx. 7:29 am, an Officer took a vehicle theft report of a red, 2001, Ford Expedition. The vehicle was unlocked, with the keys left inside.

After the Officer completed taking the report, he observed a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle attempted to elude the Officer then pulled into a driveway of a residence on Saratoga Road, as if the driver knew who lived at the residence. It was later determined the resident didn’t know the suspect.

Officers contacted the subject, who had exited the vehicle. When ordered to stop, the subject refused to. When one of the Officers grabbed the subjects arm, the subject punched the Officer in the face. An electronic control device was successfully deployed, and the subject was taken into custody.

The subject was identified as Dane Holmsky, 20 of Monterey. Medics responded and checked Holmsky. After the medics checked Holmsky, he jumped up and started running away. However, he tripped and fell face first into a group of mail boxes.

Holmsky was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for; felony auto theft, felony obstructing an Officer, misdemeanor battery on an Officer, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), along with several other misdemeanor violations .

The Officer sustained a laceration to his upper lip as a result of being punched by Holmsky.
