26 March 10, at approx. 2:04 pm, officers responded to a reported injury accident at the intersection of Linoberg and Bradford Streets, involving a bicyclist and vehicle.
During the investigation it was determined that David Joslin of Sonora, was operating his bicycle westbound on Bradford St. at a high rate of speed. While approaching the intersection of Linoberg Street, Joslin turned left onto Linoberg Street.
Because of Joslin’s high rate of speed, as he turned left onto Linoberg St., his bicycle left the pavement and he was unable to apply the brakes to his bicycle to slow it down. After becoming airborne, Joslin crossed into the opposing lane of traffic.
As Joslin crossed into the opposing traffic lane, he collided with a BMW being operated by Tracy McLaughlin or Sonora. The force of the impact ejected Joslin from his bicycle. Joslin struck the windshield of the vehicle and he rolled off of the hood. Joslin sustained moderate scratches and abrasions and refused medical treatment. Joslin was not wearing a helmet. The bicycle was totaled and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.
