8 Oct. 2015, at approx. 6:50 pm, emergency personnel responded to the area of 74 S. Washington Street for a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian accident.
Officers determined Mandy Jackson, 18 of Acampo, was northbound on S. Washington Street in a 2002 Subaru Outback, when Christina Klaas, 19 of Jamestown, ran between two parked vehicles on the west side of the roadway, between the intersections of Linoberg and Bradford Streets, and was struck by Jackson. Witnesses stated Jackson didn’t have time to react, and struck Klass as she ran in front of her vehicle.
Klass was transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision. The investigation is continuing.
