Felony Assault Arrest

On May 31st during the 11 P.M. hour, Officers responded to the 300 block of South Washington St. for a report of a fight involving a knife. Officers arrived on scene and contacted 37-year-old Richard Carter out of Sacramento.

According to eye witness accounts, Carter had gotten into a verbal argument with the victim in the parking lot of the business. Carter left briefly the parking lot, but then came back holding a knife in one hand and a chain wrapped around the fist of his other hand. Carter became even more aggressive and made a stabbing motion towards the victim. Carter luckily dropped the weapons when another witness went to get help. Nobody was injured in the altercation.

Carter was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Tuolumne County Jail with a $40,000 bail.
