Felony Obstruction

Shortly after 12:05 pm, on Wednesday July 23rd, Sonora Police Officers were called to Rite Aid regarding a female subject refusing to leave the premises. Upon their arrival, a store representative told officers that the female, later identified as 27-year-old Bryanna J Ireland of Columbia, was yelling at other customers and disrupting business operations.

Ireland became irate with officers when they contacted her. At one point, she remover her face covering and threw it at the face of one of the officers. When officers attempted to detain Ireland, she became physically combative and made several threats towards them. Ireland kicked one of the officers and dug her fingernails into the officer’s arm during the struggle.

Ireland was ultimately arrested for felony resisting and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail with bail set at $20,000.  Fortunately, neither of the officers nor Ireland suffered serious injuries during the struggle.
