Jewelry Store Burglary

In the early morning hours of Monday, March 23rd, a caller alerted the Sonora Police Department to a burglary in progress at Three-Hawks Jewelers on South Washington Street.  Within minutes, our Dispatch Center was notified of the break-in by the alarm company.

The caller reported seeing a man dressed in all black, smashing one of the front windows of the store, grab jewelry from a display, and quickly fled the scene running northbound.

When our officers arrived less than a minute later, they found broken glass on the sidewalk but were unable to locate the suspect. The owner of the business estimated the loss to be in the neighborhood of $20,000.

At this point, there are no known suspects, and we are asking that anyone with information regarding this crime call the Sonora Police Department at 209-532-8141.  The photograph below is believed to be that of the suspect.
