Possession of Concealed Dagger Arrest

41-year-old Cory Rae Courtney of Oakdale was arrested early Tuesday morning for the unlawful carrying of a dagger.

Just after 12:30 am on March 10th, 2019, Officer Durham was conducting a patrol check behind the businesses at the Crossroads shopping center.  He observed two subjects behind Big Lots, which was closed at the time, and contacted them to inquire about their activities.  One of the subjects, Cory Courtney, was ultimately determined to be on Stanislaus County Probation for criminal threats.

Officer Durham conducted a search of Courtney and located a fixed blade knife concealed in a pocket of his clothing.  Courtney was arrested for suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, which is a felony in California.

Courtney was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for his charges.  Officer Durham determined that the second subject was not in violation of any crimes and was released from the scene.
